Haslam Begs for Mercy from Wamp, Ramsey
The candidate who’s about to take a vicious beating from his rivals in the governor’s race is calling for civility in politics in this new TV ad. Do you think Zach Wamp and Ron Ramsey will laugh out loud or merely chortle to themselves when they see this?
“What if we had an election where we really did focus on the issues? That’s what I’d like to do,” Haslam says in his hysterically funny opening line in the ad.
Haslam will have the last laugh, of course. Once Wamp and Ramsey go on the attack, he will launch a nuclear counterstrike and wipe them off the map. He’s already been taking polls to test their negatives. With this ad, he’s thinking ahead. When his rivals start crying, he can claim he tried to play nice.
Act like adults is a good plan, and frankly the Wamp and Ramsey yahoos will need alot of encouragement and positive behavior reinforcement., yikes they are so not profressional. Bill Haslam is a shoe in for adult voters.
Bill’s ad is needed right now…and I have known Bill for decades (Yes, we both are getting older!). This ad is represents Bill, the Bill I know and everyone in TN knows. He is a honest and straight-forward person…and he is in Politics – can you imagine having a politician who speaks his mind? Well, that is the Bill Haslam I know. Tennesee is lucky to have him. And he wants to be our Governor! It is a hard job, but he will make it look easy.
Let’s get the right guy in the office – That’s Bill…he will take us into bright future.
Fred
@Allen, Ramsey may be a yahoo, but I don’t consider Wamp to be one. The more I hear him speak at engagements & forums, the more I’m impressed with his plan and his vision. Haslam may be a nice guy, but I’m sure Wamp and Ramsey are too when you get to meet them. It’s just unfortunate that nice guys finish last. Granted, Bill and his oil family fortune have bought any leads that he may have, but the more the voters of TN hear Wamp speak, the more I think they are going to find that not only does he relate more to the blue-collar Tennesseans, but he has more of a vision than either Ramsey or Haslam. For example, in Bill’s latest ad, he asks us to compare his ideas with the other two candidates. Yet, rarely do you ever hear him offer any substance to what his ideas are. On the contrary, almost every time Wamp speaks, he lays out some actual blueprint for the issue in discussion.
@Fred, I think Wamp speaks his mind (and even Ramsey too) more so than Haslam. I think Tennesseans will see that Bill doesn’t have near as much of a backbone as the other two candidates. He doesn’t have the passion that Wamp has, which is increasingly evident at speaking events. And when it comes to state’s sovereignty, which I think is becoming increasingly important under the Obama administration, Haslam wouldn’t even muster an effort regarding the strong-arming of this administration. On more that one occasion, Wamp has been adamant about where he stands regarding the liberty of the states.
Both of you may think of Haslam as a nice guy, which is fine, but he’s definitely not the best candidate in this race. The only thing that limits the TN voters from realizing this is Haslam’s family fortune shoveling cash into advertising efforts.
